Sunday, we stopped by Big Lots after lunch and the boys ended up buying for themselves The Oregon Trail 5th Edition. I love educational software! Before they went to bed tonight they begin to explain to me which guns were best for hunting and why. They explained
Last of all, thanks to my friend Nina's help I finally got my timeline up. I would have posted a picture of it, but I don't want to until we put some of our characters on it. I'll give you some uneducated advise though. If you plan to hang it up on the wall and you can't use staples out of desperation, then use rubber cement glue. It worked great! It looks good too. I'm thinking about buying a few of those paint markers and writing the time periods underneath the correct spots. This sounds crazy but I think it would look good. By the way, I hung ours in my bedroom on an empty wall. My husband likes history so eventually he'll really dig this timeline.
He's already looking at it in thought.

She did a great job with the playdough alphabet! And I've heard Oregon Trail program is great. I wish I had gotten it for Brother when he was homeschooled. Oh, by the way, if you ever want to know more about Southern Baptists in general, try www.sbc.net. You can read the Baptist Faith and Message there, as well as info about the Cooperative Program, where each church sends a designated amount of money each year to support missionaries, and lots of other info, keeping in mind that each church is completely autonomous so just because SBC has on official statement on an issue, doesn't necessarily mean all Baptist churches do the same. It was pretty enlightening for me, and I've been Baptist all my life. :)
